If you’re familiar with York Yoga Studio in Acomb, you’ll know it’s difficult to find a better venue in York, and for so many reasons from the practical to the less tangible but nevertheless significant such as the welcome you get from the moment you come through the door. It is for all these reasons that we’re returning to YYS, this time for something a little more special.
Calm Saturdays provide opportunities beyond those which are available from one day workshops, and experience has shown us that factoring in personal practice time between classes to be hugely beneficial. Calm Saturdays brings together all of the insights from Mind Calm and Body Calm along with easy-to-follow steps to practice Calm Meditation both in class and at home. This therefore involves two full day classes a week apart to facilitate practice in real life, with the chance to feed back on any difficulties or even any insights, creative or otherwise! The dates are Saturday 10th September, and Saturday 17th September. Each day will start at 10.30 and finish at 17.00
The Content of the Saturdays
Have you ever wondered why we have a tendency to be frequently inundated with a cascade of thinking? Do we actually know what stress is, and the sometimes hidden causes of stress? How do we know meditation works? What can it address? Are we clear on what we ultimately want? How familiar are we with our ‘real’ selves? Have we ever pondered on why we’re here, and what the purpose of life might be? These are some of the areas that will be addressed over the course of the 2 days, along with techniques to put them into practice so as to make changes to your experience of life genuinely possible.
The Optional Lunch
There is also an option to join us for lunch, a raw food tapas-style lunch which, by its very nature, presents no conflict for vegetarians and vegans, or for those needing or choosing to avoid dairy or gluten. We invite conversation and questions about food and hope to inspire you to see the potential and excitement of eating natural, non-industrialised food. We believe that eating in a way that energises and is in harmony with our bodies is vital for restoring or maintaining good health, but this is so much easier if the food is appealing!
The Prices and Contact Information
The cost of the course is £75. Payment is usually made via York Yoga Studio, but we can also take payment here. Please do ensure that we know about your booking and who you are if you are paying this way: we will want to confirm that you have a place, and if you are one of the first five to book, you will be given a free copy of Calm Insight on the day. The optional lunch / lunches is £10 per lunch and can be paid on the day. If you would like to attend, but would not be available for both Saturdays, it will be possible to attend the first Saturday alone. The price for this is £50. Please contact us, or Laurie at York Yoga Studio if you would like to attend just the first Saturday.
